I'm not sure I read correctly, but does VDI create standard pdb image files? If so,  would it not be possible to use a Mac to download the Palm package onto my Palm, and then use Palm's own software to convert the images from my desktop and install them on the Palm? Or am I missing something? TIA

The VDI converter application converts images to PDB databases. The image data in the databases is in specific for the VDI application format, i.e. your first assumption is incorrect. I can describe the format if there is any interest. Ultimately, it does as much as possible to simplify the work for the viewer that is run on PDA, but it also allows to store multiple images and complementary data.

Aha. Thanks for the info. I'm new to Palm, coming from the Newton, so all this is really unfamiliar to me, and your explanation helped a lot!
